Arepa Llanera

The arepa llanera (countryside), as its name suggests, has the typical and traditional ingredients of the Venezuelan cuisine of the plains. It is filled with roasted beef, tomatoes and avocado as if it were a salad and Guayana cheese to give it a Creole touch.

Ingredients for the Arepa Llanera recipe

  • 500 g avocado
  • 1 cup tomato, diced
  • ¼ cup parsley
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 500 g of Carne asada (roast beef)
  • 300 g of guayanés cheese.

Preparation of the Arepa llanera recipe:

  1. Prepare the dough for the arepas and cook them.
  2. Peel the avocado and remove the seed to cut into cubes.
  3. Mix the avocado with the tomato, parsley, salt and oil, trying to mistreat the avocado as little as possible.
  4. Fill each arepa with some carne asada, a slice of guayanes cheese and the tomato and avocado salad to crown the arepa.
  5. Serve.

Fun Facts of Arepa Llanera

  • It can be perfectly accompanied with guasacaca in any of its presentations.
  • The salad can be perfectly complemented with onion for vegetable lovers.
